SPOTLIGHT: InvestMed Patient Kiosk |
"Once upon a time in a
doctor’s office, new patients would fill out several
detailed forms by hand. Once finished they would hand their
often illegible forms to an employee who would begin the
arduous task of manually entering the information into a
computer system. Paper was wasted, errors in data entry
were made, and inefficiency reigned. Now all that has
changed. With InvestMed's Patient Kiosk, patients enter
their own information safely and securely into your practice
management system."
In January of this
year InvestMed, L.L.C. introduced its new product, the
InvestMed Patient Kiosk.
What is Patient
Kiosk?
Patient Kiosk is the
newest office tool for reducing paper, decreasing data entry
errors, and improving employee efficiency. It is
currently designed to work with Lytec, Medisoft, and
AltaPoint (but could easily be expanded to work with any
ODBC compliant database).
The patient kiosk
is broken into two parts, the InvestMed Patient
Kiosk software which sits on a computer in the
waiting room of a medical office and the
InvestMed Kiosk Administrator program which
resides on the computer of the office staff who is in charge
of entering new patient information into the system. The
InvestMed Kiosk Administrator is the key to getting the
patient data from the Kiosk into the medical office's
practice management system. It also allows an office
staff member to verify that the information entered into the
Patient Kiosk is both accurate and complete before merging
it into their office software.
In the short time
since Patient Kiosk was released, this product has generated
quite a “buzz” and interest in using the kiosk is on a rapid
incline. We are getting a lot of positive feedback and are
excited to take you and your clients to the next level of
Patient Kiosk. Our programmers have been working diligently
to complete InvestMed’s, Patient Kiosk Premiere.
Patient Kiosk Premiere will include Patient Kiosk 1.0, as
well as our web kiosk and a signature capture device.
We are pleased to
announce that on April 11, 2005 InvestMed’s Web
Kiosk will be available for purchase. For
those clients who have already purchased Patient Kiosk 1.0
this is the perfect time to introduce a 'must-have' add-on.
Currently, our programmers are working very hard in hopes
to bring you signature capture device features; the
tentative release date for this add-on is May 2005.
