TOP STORY: InvestMed - 2 Years and Counting

This month contains an especially significant milestone for InvestMed as we hit our 2-Year Anniversary as a company!! We are pleased to offer you a glimpse into portions of our business plan as we have finally moved past Phase 1 of our company's goals and are working towards completing Phase 2 and beyond.

We began InvestMed in May of 2004 with the knowledge that the healthcare software industry has been an industry that has enjoyed sustained growth over the last 15 years. With a low overhead and substantial profit margin, a well-designed, well-marketed medical software company can experience fast growth with a high return on investment. Healthcare, in general, is mostly unfazed by what the market as a whole has done.

1.0 Objectives

InvestMed’s objectives for the first three years of operation include -

Phase I (completed):  In the year of operation, we will create a Patient Kiosk new patient demographics package that interfaces with AltaPoint, Lytec, and Medisoft.  This package will also have web and digital signature pad capabilities. This can be sold immediately through the AltaPoint, Lytec, and Medisoft resellers. Additionally, a 6000+-subscriber eNewsletter will generate advertising revenues from software and other manufacturers in the medical community.

Phases II and III: Version 2/3 of Patient Kiosk will be released incorporating requested features and enhanced interface. Our patent application, currently in pending status with US Patent Office, will be finalized.  Version 4 of Patient Kiosk will incorporate appointment scheduling and request capabilities.

3.1 Product Description

InvestMed Patient Kiosk is software which operates in both a kiosk (computer station) in the healthcare clinic and also over the web. The purpose of this software is to fill in a missing link – that of gathering patient information for import into the clinic Practice Management System (PMS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) package.

The InvestMed Monthly eNewsletter is a simple yet effective mechanism to provide valuable information as well as advertising to the medical reseller community.

4.0 Strategic Alliances

InvestMed already has strategic alliances in place.  These alliances include the personal relationships of Kevin Burdick with nearly 400 independent medical software resellers nationwide as well as companies such as X-Link and Topaz.  Because we use an open database, InvestMed encourages 3rd party development in our software as well as private label opportunities.
