Gary Gorsline, the man behind X-Link, is
someone that I have considered a personal friend for nearly 7
years. He is enigmatic, undaunted, and a brilliant businessman.
He is someone that is undeterred by trial or pressure and is
definitely a guy you want in your corner. I sat down with Gary,
via the web, and asked him a few questions about X-Link and Easy
Business Software. I think you'll be reasonably impressed with
the answers he gave.
Excerpts from an
interview with President & CEO of Easy
Business Software, Gary Gorsline.
KB: Gary, thank you for sitting down and spending some time with
me. I see you’ve recently been awarded with the “Technology
Industry of the Year” award. Tell me, how does one win that
award?
GG: Well Kevin, I must say it was a great honor for us. To
answer your question, I’ve been involved in the healthcare
industry now for nearly 25 years and for the last several years
I’ve been a consultant to the Governor’s Special Task Force on
Healthcare Issues. These coveted awards are given to companies
that show leadership in business, growth, expansion and
corporate citizenship. I’m very proud of our staff and their
work, which has allowed us to attain this special recognition.
KB: Wow, that's great Gary. X-Link seems to be making quite an impact in the industry,
so what exactly is X-Link?
GG: X-Link is a product that helps physicians share common
patient and clinical data between disparate clinical and
practice management software systems that are in the market
today.
KB: One of the things I've been confused about - Is it compatible with all software systems and data service
providers?
GG: Not quite. X-Link is compatible with over 130 different
software systems and service providers as of now however; Easy
Business Software is constantly in the process of developing
even more integrations.
KB: So I take it X-Link requires a heavy technical background to
use and operate - What about a sales guy like me with little
technical experience?
GG: That’s the beauty of it, Kevin. X-Link is behind-the-scenes
software the user never directly accesses. X-Link simply runs in
the background and the benefit is enormous. X-Link saves the
practice from wasted time and errors created from re-keying
patient data into other clinical PC systems. Your practice is
able to run much more efficiently, thus saving time and money.
KB: Okay, so if a client has questions or concerns about X-Link,
what would they do?
GG: We have over 100 trained VARS nationwide and an excellent
technical support team here at Easy Business Software. This is
not only for our X-Link product (which requires little to no
support as well as most of the software systems and solutions in
the industry that X-Link connects.
KB: Being first is sometimes difficult. How has X-Link fared against the other products like “the
Johnny come lately” competitors in the industry?
GG: As a matter of fact, X-Link is doing quite well. It has
essentially become the industry gold standard for integration
providing interfacing for over two-thirds of the practice
management systems used in the small practice market! And as a
result, we at Easy Business Software had to expand our offices
to accommodate the growth of our X-Link product.
KB: That's fantastic! Let me ask you then, why do you believe X-Link is
becoming the industry norm for so many physician offices?
GG: I believe most physicians enjoy the power of choice that
X-Link provides them. X-Link allows physician offices to choose
from a vast array of different software providers/systems, thus
not limiting them to using exclusively only one vendor. This
allows many offices to integrate today’s top software
applications from the many different vendors when addressing
their many different task-specific office needs.
KB: That makes sense, this way you can get the best software
systems available and still have a way to link them all
together.
GG: Exactly, Kevin. And I also believe that many of our clients
use our software because it is compliant with the past laws and
regulations of HIPAA as well as the new guidelines.
KB: X-Link seems to definitely be making physician’s offices
much more efficient as well as government compliant, Gary. I’m
sure it will continue grow as more and more clinical systems are
created or become electronic. Thanks for spending a little time
with me today.
